Safety Award
Description
This award celebrates CHBA-NL members who take health and safety seriously and go beyond the minimum the law requires. The minimum is following the OHS legislation. This award is for members who do more, who build strong habits, lead by example, and keep getting better.
Requirements
ELIGIBILITY: Entries may be submitted by members in good standing of the CHBA-NL for the 2025-2026 year. WorkplaceNL statistics will be evaluated for the 2025-2026 calendar years. All other information will be evaluated as of the date of application.

Renovator: Bathroom
Description
This award recognizes excellence in bathroom renovation projects that demonstrate outstanding craftsmanship, innovative design, functionality, and attention to detail.
Requirements
This award is defined as the space where the bathroom is located. Bathroom renovations of all sizes are eligible. Entries may include renovations of primary bathrooms, ensuites, powder rooms, or accessible bathroom spaces. Entries in this category cannot be submitted in any other category.

Requirements
ELIGIBILITY: Entries may be submitted only by new home builders and developers who are members in good standing of the CHBA-NL for the 2025-2026 year. Eligible projects include multi-unit residential buildings, such as small condominium developments, row houses, or attached townhome, consisting of more than 2 attached dwelling units, up to five units. Two-apartment homes are not eligible for this category. All dwelling units referred to in entries must have been completed and available for sale, rent, or occupancy between September 16, 2025 and August 31, 2026.
Up to three (3) entries in the New Home Award Multi-family are permitted for each new home builder/developer membership.

Description
The Renovator Kitchen Award recognizes excellence in kitchen renovation projects that demonstrate outstanding design, craftsmanship, functionality, and value. This award celebrates renovators who have successfully transformed an existing kitchen into a beautiful, efficient, and highly functional space that meets the unique needs and lifestyle of the homeowner. This award honours projects that showcase creativity, attention to detail, and excellence in residential renovation. This award is defined as the space where the kitchen is located but may also include an eating area or a breakfast nook. Kitchen renovations of all sizes are eligible.

Entrants must be a Renovator Member in good standing with CHBA-NL for 2025-2026. Kitchen suppliers are not eligible. Projects referred to in entries must have been renovated between September 16, 2025 and August 31, 2026. Entries in this category cannot be submitted in any other category.

Community Leadership Award
Description
The CHBA-NL Community Leadership Award was developed to honor persons who are making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication (outside any volunteer work done for their employer). The honoree selected should serve as a role model for compassion and service and be striving to make our communities a better place. They should have a passion for helping others in their community. There is no entry fee for this award.
Requirements
Any member in good standing of CHBA-NL may be nominated by another member.
Persons being nominated for this award will have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion, and service to either one organization or a variety of volunteer activities in one year. The charitable activities / events or service listed on the application cannot be part of the nominee's job description or duties and the individual cannot receive any monetary or personal benefits from their involvement. They must be a member in good standing.

Description
This award recognizes performance excellence of Professional Services members, as well as to inform the industry and public of these achievements. Includes businesses that support the residential construction sector by providing specialized expertise, but do not directly build homes or supply construction materials. Examples would be architects, engineers, surveyors, marketing firms, consultants, designers, financial, legal, media and technical services .

Requirements
This award recognizes a member who embraces leadership in improving housing affordability in Newfoundland and Labrador. This includes innovative approaches for any part of the housing continuum, and may be targeted to any ages and households—from private market housing, first-time homebuyers, to purpose-built rentals, to social housing, and a diverse range of housing forms
*For the context of this award, housing affordability is described as fair access to homes that meet Newfoundland and Labradorians needs at a price they can reasonably afford. The project must demonstrate a recognizable improvement in costs and/or accessibility for the owners or renters due to the innovative approach .

Only a CHBA-NL New Home Real Estate Sales Team or Individual member in good standing of the CHBA-NL for the 2025-2026 year may submit entries. Dwelling units referred to in entries must have been completed and available for sale, rent or occupancy between September 16, 2025 and August 31, 2026. The Building Excellence Award “Real Estate Sales Team or Individual” includes all individuals employed by or contracted to a new home builder who are essential to achieving excellence in new home sales.

Eligible projects may include exterior facelifts, siding upgrades, roofing, windows and doors, decks, porches, outdoor living spaces, landscaping features, and other exterior improvements.
