Community Leadership Award
Description
The CHBA-NL Community Leadership Award was developed to honor persons who are making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication (outside any volunteer work done for their employer). The honoree selected should serve as a role model for compassion and service and be striving to make our communities a better place. They should have a passion for helping others in their community.
Requirements
Any member in good standing of CHBA-NL may be nominated by another member.
Persons being nominated for this award will have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion, and service to either one organization or a variety of volunteer activities in one year. The charitable activities / events or service listed on the application cannot be part of the nominee's job description or duties and the individual cannot receive any monetary or personal benefits from their involvement.

Excellence in Housing Affordability Award
Requirements
This award recognizes a member who embraces leadership in improving housing affordability in Newfoundland and Labrador. This includes innovative approaches for any part of the housing continuum, and may be targeted to any ages and households—from private market housing, first-time homebuyers, to purpose-built rentals, to social housing, and a diverse range of housing forms
*For the context of this award, housing affordability is described as fair access to homes that meet Newfoundland and Labradorians needs at a price they can reasonably afford. The project must demonstrate a recognizable improvement in costs and/or accessibility for the owners or renters due to the innovative approach .
ELIGIBILITY
Only Members in good standing of the CHBA-NL for the 2023-2024 year may
submit entries. Eligible submissions are for work completed between September 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024.

Green Build Award
Requirements
The Green Home Award is presented to a new home builder or developer member for outstanding environmental performance in a new single-detached home. The Green Build Award is for all new homes (production or custom ), but does not include homes built as research or demonstration projects with financial support from governments or other third parties for any aspect of the project.
It is anticipated that the energy and environmental performance of homes entered for this award will be significantly beyond building code requirements and conventional construction practices in the market area.
Eligibility: Entries may be submitted only by new home builders and developers who are members in good standing of the CHBA-NL for the 2023-2024 year. The dwelling unit referred to in entries must have been completed and available for sale, rent or occupancy between September 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024.

This award is presented to an active Professional Services member who has shown outstanding skill in the provision of services, has supported the Association through member involvement and promoted the Association in their marketing campaign.
ELIGIBILITY: Only Professional Services in good standing of the CHBA-NL for the 2023-2024 year may submit entries. Eligible submissions are for business transactions between January 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024.

The Building Excellence Award “Real Estate Sales Team or Individual” includes all individuals employed by or contracted to a new home builder who are essential to achieving excellence in new home sales.
